By Christopher Clahar, 11/09/18, 5:00PM EST

Former Philly Hurricane player Tyhee "TJ" Taylor started his collegiate basketball career off on the right track. Yesterday Tyhee and the rest of the Northern Vermont University Badgers faced off against St. Joseph's College in Lyndonville, VT at the NVU Tip-Off Classic. Tyhee came off the bench to score 18 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. Even though his team lost, TJ, who currently plays for another former Philly Hurricane in head coach Miles Smith '04,  garnered the MVP award for the game. "Tyhee is one of the best freshman I have ever recruited as a head coach.." stated Coach Smith. "He's a strong leader and his ability to control the game has been amazing. He could potentially finish his career as one of the best guards to play at Northern Vermont University." Tyhee played for the Hurricanes in the summer of 2017. He attended Overbrook High School where he was the 2018 class valedictorian.
